8th annual Angler Young Angler fishing tourny to be held in Yellowknife

Yellowknife, NWT – The 8th annual Angler Young Angler fishing tournament is taking place in Yellowknife this weekend.

The regulated catch and release tournament will be held on Kam Lake Sunday.

Jason Clarke helps organize the tournament.

We asked him how teams are judged.

“You have to have an adult angler and two youngsters 17 and younger to go out and fish. The objective is to catch the greatest combined weight of three walleye. Competitors will have to catch the walleye, bring them in and register their weight.”

Clarke says the winning team will have an opportunity to attend the Angler Young Angler’s national fishing tournament in Ontario later this summer as well as a chance to go to Disney World.
