Investigation underway for Curry Drive fire

The Office of the Fire Marshal for the Northwest Territories has been contacted to investigate a fire from last week.

Late on Friday night (February 2nd), the Yellowknife Fire Division received a call saying a garage on Curry Drive was on fire.

The Fire Division initially responded with a crew of four; overall, fourteen fire personnel wound up on scene by the time the fire was put out. The crew noted flames and heavy smoke coming from the bay doors and front of the structure.

The cause of the fire was not determined while on the scene.

This is the second fire in roughly two months that has occurred on Curry Drive.
