Inuvik RCMP ask for assistance in finding alleged armed robber

Inuvik RCMP are investigating an alleged armed robbery.

The robbery was reported late Tuesday night at approximately 10:40 pm.

A convenience store clerk said a man entered the store, threatened him with what was described as a knife and requested money. The clerk refused to give him any cash and the robber fled the store with stolen items.

The suspect was last reportedly seen on running east on Kingmingya Rd.

Police are asking for assistance in searching for the missing suspect. According to Media Relations for the RCMP, Marie York-Condon, there may have been potential witnesses in the store at, or around, the time of the alleged robbery.

RCMP believe person, or persons, may have seen something suspicious, or may have noticed someone with items that would have been available at the Corner Store. We are asking the residents of Inuvik to report any suspicious or unusual activity.
