Weather affects ice roads

The Government of the Northwest Territories’ Department of Infrastructure is advising that the Dettah ice road is going to be restricted.

An increasing amount of deep water along the shore has forced the restriction. It’s possible the ice road could close within the next two days.

It was also announced that INF is issuing an update on the Liard and N’dulee ice crossings.

INF says that due to the increasingly colder weather and heavy cloud cover, the crossings will remain open for the next three days.

The Department had issued several closures for this week.

Again, updates will be provided by the end of the week.
