Update: Fire on Byrne Road

Closer look at the possible fire. Initial reports suggest it is an attached garage.

The Yellowknife Fire Division has given an update on yesterday’s fire on Byrne Road.

A fire crew responded to a call of smoke coming from a garage. Upon arrival, the crew called for more personnel. The firefighters entered through the garage. They put the fire out soon after the additional personnel arrived.

The cause of the fire is still undetermined and is under investigation by the Office of the Fire Marshal. The YKFD did state that the fire was coming from the eaves of the garage.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
